(1) Science Research Assistant
Brief Description of the Position
• Reports directly to the Section Head and Division Head;
• Gather and compiles earthquake and tsunami-related data and assist in its interpretation and analyses;
• Operates, maintains, and repairs earthquake and sea-level monitoring instruments and data transmission systems;
• Assist in the design, modification, and fabrication of monitoring instruments, accessories and other necessary modules;
• Participates in the daily monitoring of earthquake and tsunami;
• Deals with the conscientious handling, processing and provision of information for earthquake and tsunami monitoring warning and advisory;
• Writes technical data and activity reports submitted to direct supervisors;
• Willing and fit to travel and be permanently assigned in any area in the Philippines;
• Perform other functions as may be assigned from time to time
