Project description:
The PHIVOLCS-funded project Development of Early Warning Systems for Landslides, also known as the DYNASLOPE Project, is a multidisciplinary endeavor addressing the problem of landslide risk. The project is composed of instrumentation engineers, software engineers, civil engineers, geologists, social scientists, and community developers working together towards the development of a community-based early warning system for landslides.

Contract of Services under PHIVOLCS locally-funded project
Contract Duration:
January to June 2023 (may be renewed if performance is satisfactory)

Monthly Salary:
PhP 45,780.00
Job Description
● Conduct research related to sensor data monitoring and analysis
● Develop methods and tools for sensor data monitoring and analysis
● Conduct pre and post fieldwork administrative tasks
● Conduct work related to implementation of early warning system protocol
● Perform other duties that may be required by the project
● Participate in meetings and workshops facilitated for the whole projects
● Submit necessary individual/team/group documents to MEAL
Educational Background
● BS Computer Science, BS Industrial Engineering, BS Applied Physics, BS Physics, BS Math, BS Stat, or any data science-related course
● Experience/Training/Competency
● Knowledgeable and skilled in, or at least can easily adapt to, Python-based computer programming;
● Preferably with at least one (1) year of programming-related work;
● Demonstrate good math-based problem solving and analytical skills;
● Has good report/research writing skills
● Preferably, licensed professional, if applicable to the profession

Job Description
● Formulate integrated early warning system operations protocol manuals
● Develop tools related to the implementation, evaluation, and refinement of protocol of the early warning system operations;
● Conduct pre and post fieldwork administrative tasks
● Conduct work related to implementation of early warning system protocol
● perform other duties that may be required by the project.
● Participate in meetings and workshops facilitated for the whole projects conduct pre and post fieldwork administrative tasks;
● Submit necessary individual/team/group documents to MEAL
Educational Background
● BS Computer Science, BS Applied Physics, BS Physics, BS Math, BS Stat, BS Library Science, BS Geology or any science-related course

● Critical thinker and meticulous to details;
● Preferably with knowledge in operations research;
● Has good report/research writing skills
