Two (2) Science Research Specialist II

 

Monthly Salary: P 45,780.00

 

Job Description:
 Conducts land cover classification using RS/AI
 Assist the Senior SRS in risk calculation
 Oversees SRS I under the project
 Conducts earthquake hazards mapping and research using geophysical, geomorphological, geologic and AI techniques and instrumentation
 Manages, consolidates, analyzes/interprets, processes data related to earthquake hazards, including remote sensing data
 Explores techniques on AI, geophysics and remote-sensing and contribute to developing up-to-date methodologies
 Writes reports, procedures and publishable papers
 Operates/maintains/builds databases
 Implements project activities and work plans
 Presents results in written and oral manner
 Performs other tasks that may be assigned

 

Educational Background
 Graduate of Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Physics, Engineering or any Earth Science related courses are encouraged to apply

 

Experience/Training/Competency
 Knowledge in remote sensing
 Able, willing, and fit to travel and conduct fieldworks
 Field mapping and GIS skills
 Able to communicate well with co-workers, partners, and stakeholders
 Able to manage work schedule and project activities
 With good technical writing and presentation skills
 Programming skill is an advantage
 With sound understanding of research topic principles and methodologies related to earthquake sources and effects
