The PHIVOLCS-funded project Development of Early Warning Systems for Landslides, also known as the DYNASLOPE Project, is a multidisciplinary endeavor addressing the problem of landslide risk. The project is composed of instrumentation engineers, software engineers, civil engineers, geologists, social scientists, and community developers working together towards the development of a community-based early warning system for landslides.

Job Description
● Conduct research related to sensor data monitoring and analysis;
● Develop methods and tools for sensor data monitoring and analysis;
● Develop methods for landslide threshold computation;
● Conduct pre and post fieldwork administrative tasks;
● Conduct work related to implementation of early warning system protocol;
● Perform other duties that may be required by the project.
● Participate in meetings and workshops facilitated for the whole projects;
● Submit necessary individual/team/group documents to MEAL;
Educational Background
● BS Applied Physics, BS Physics, BS Math, BS Stat, BS Library Science, BS Computer Engineering, BS Computer Science, BS Information Technology, BS Geology, BS Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, BS Electronics and Communications Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, or any related field.
Experience/Training/Competency
● Preferably, licensed professional, if applicable to the profession;
● preferably with at least one (1) year of programming-related work;
● knowledgeable and skilled in, or at least can easily adapt to Python-based computer programming;
● demonstrate good math-based problem solving and analytical skills;
● has good report/research writing skills
One (1) Project Technical Assistant IV for the Deployment and Maintenance Team
Monthly Salary:

Job Description
● Create materials for maintenance procedures of datalogger and sensor field deployments;
● Create timely maintenance plans for datalogger and sensor field deployments;
● Ensure that dataloggers and sensors deployed in the field are working that the targeted project uptime;
● Document fieldwork activities;
● Conduct pre and post fieldwork administrative tasks;
● Conduct work related to implementation of early warning system protocol. Submit necessary individual/team/group documents to MEAL;
Educational Background
● BS Electronics and Communications Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Computer Engineering, BS Applied Physics
Experience/Training/Competency
● preferably, licensed professional;
● At least six (6) months experience in relevant field, preferably in instrumentation, electronics and computer engineering;
● Adept in instrumentation and electronics development;
● Microcontroller firmware development;
● Various programming languages (C, C++, Python, etc)
