One (1) Project Technical Specialist I

 

Project title: ACER Project 4: Ground Shaking (GS) and Earthquake-Induced Landslide (EIL) Hazard Modeling Using Geophysics, Remote Sensing (RS) and Artificial Intelligence (AI): GS Component

 

Employment status: Contract of services under EGGRDS

 

Contract Duration: April 2025 to June 2025

 

Monthly Salary: Php52,272.00/month

 

Educational Background
- Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Geology or related Earth Science courses

 

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Produces high-quality technical documentation, including reports, procedures, and publishable research papers.
2. Conducts earthquake hazards mapping and research using geophysical, geomorphological, geologic, and AI techniques and instrumentation.
3. Manages, consolidates, analyzes/interprets, and processes data related to earthquake hazards, including remote sensing data.
4. Explores AI, geophysics, and remote sensing techniques to contribute to the development of up-to-date methodologies.
5. Operates, maintains, and builds databases.
6. Implements project activities and work plans.
7. Presents research findings effectively in both written and oral formats.
8. Performs other tasks related to the program that may be assigned from time to time.

 

Experience/Training/Competencies:
1. At least one (1) year of relevant experience in earthquake hazards research, geophysics, remote sensing, or related fields.
2. Able, willing, and fit to travel and conduct fieldwork.
3. Intermediate field mapping and GIS skills.
4. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with coworkers, partners, and stakeholders.
5. Ability to manage work schedules and project activities efficiently.
6. Proven experience in technical writing, with the ability to produce clear, well-structured reports, research papers, and procedural documents.
7. Programming skills are an advantage.
8. Strong understanding of research principles and methodologies related to earthquake sources and effects.
9. Preferably with experience in seismic instrumentation and processing or geological engineering.
