Employment status: Contract of Services under PHIVOLCS locally-funded project
Monthly Salary: PhP 52,272.00
Job Description
1. Lead the preparation and writing of scientific papers related to earthquake-induced landslide hazards
2.Collaborate with team members to ensure hazard maps and research findings are effectively translated into publishable content
3.Conduct critical reviews of literature and recent advancements to refine methodologies in earthquake hazard assessment
4.Conducts earthquake-induced landslide hazards mapping and research using geophysical, geotechnical, geomorphological, geologic, and AI techniques and instrumentation
5.Manage, consolidate, and maintain databases supporting the research and paper-writing process
6.Implements project activities and work plans
7.Presents results in written and oral manner
8. Oversees Project Technical Assistant IV
9.Performs other tasks related to the program that may be assigned from time to time
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Physics, or Engineering.
Applicants with a background in Earthquake or Seismic Hazard Assessment
related fields are an advantage.
Experience/Training/Competency
1. Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in seismic hazard assessment, with a proven track record in scientific publishing
2. Strong expertise in structuring and writing technical reports, research papers, and methodologies for hazard assessments
3. Experience in seismic instrumentation and data processing, particularly for earthquake-induced landslide studies
4. Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial data integration for hazard visualization
5. Effective collaboration and communication skills, ensuring seamless coordination with researchers and stakeholders
6. Strong project management skills, capable of aligning work schedules with publication timelines and research deliverables
