Responsible for providing support to the Supervising SRS and SRS II  in implementing earthquake- and volcano-related projects and

activities under the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Capacity Building program of PHIVOLCS for its various stakeholders.

(1) Science Research Specialist II

 

Job Description:

Assists the Supervising SRS of DRR Capacity Building section to be able to achieve PHIVOLCS goals.

Contributes to the design of trainings/seminars/conferences, its overall management from  organization- starting from coordination

to actual implementation including post-activity evaluation and assessment.  In addition, contributes to documentation of significant

geologic events, and assists in R&D activities.  In relation to the above GDAPD functions, expected to be able to set up and use

various audio-visual equipment  (projector, video and DSLR cameras).

WIll  be assigned to the DRR Capacity Building Section, but will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Materials

Development , DRR-Research and Development and DRR Communication Sections.

Job Description:

Supervises the DRR Communication Section of GDAPD with main functions of knowledge and information management and

communication with the public and other stakeholders. Is responsible for managing and implementing  PHIIVOLCS' strategies

in support of timely, accurate and effective communication of information appropriate to the needs and characteristics of

different stakeholders. As Section head, is expected to supervise and ensure systematic management of operations for

intra-organizational (PHIVOLCS internal clients) and inter-organizational (PHIVOLCS external clients) communication.

Two  (2) years of relevant experience

Those with  experience and knowledge in the field of disaster risk reduction specifically disaster awareness and
