To raise awareness for geologic disasters, DOST-PHIVOLCS will be conducting two InfoBit webinars for the House of Representatives on October 14 and 15. 

The first webinar on October 14, which will focus on “Earthquake, Tsunami, and Volcanic Eruption Preparedness,” will feature a message from DOST Secretary Fortunato T. de la Peña and a lecture by DOST Undersecretary and DOST-PHIVOLCS OIC Dr. Renato U. Solidum, Jr. who will tackle earthquake, tsunami and volcanic eruption  scenarios and how to prepare for these. 

The second webinar will be held on October 15, which will focus on “Innovations for Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.” This webinar will include presentations from Ms. Mabelline T. Cahulogan, who will highlight the initiatives of GeoRisk Philippines, and Dr. Ma. Leonila P. Bautista who will discuss the Rapid Earthquake Assessment System (REDAS) software.

The InfoBit webinars will be moderated by Dr. Ma. Mylene M. Villegas through Zoom.
